Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park – Wildlife Viewing & Maasai Village Visit
Start your adventure early in the morning with a private jeep or SGR train transfer from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park. Stop in Morogoro for breakfast before continuing your journey.
Upon arrival in Mikumi National Park, meet the Maasai community at a traditional boma (village) to learn about their culture, traditions, and daily life. This is a perfect opportunity for photography and cultural immersion.
In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive, spotting wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and if lucky, lions. Return to Camp Bastian Mikumi for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park
After breakfast, spend a full day exploring Mikumi National Park. The park is nestled between the Uluguru Mountains to the east and the Rift Valley escarpment to the southwest, offering diverse habitats and stunning landscapes.
Search for wildlife across open savannahs and riverine forests, spotting giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, lions, hippos, and impalas, along with a variety of bird species. Take time to photograph the incredible scenery and animals in their natural environment.
Return to Camp Bastian Mikumi for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Udzungwa Mountains National Park – Hiking & Waterfalls Adventure
After breakfast, transfer to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, one of Tanzania’s most scenic parks, famous for its biodiversity and pristine rainforest. Stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic site chosen by your guide.
Embark on a hiking adventure to Sanje Waterfalls, a stunning natural landmark surrounded by lush vegetation. Along the trek, observe primates such as baboons, monkeys, and Colobus monkeys, as well as rare plants and endemic bird species.
Return to Camp Bastian Mikumi for dinner and overnight stay, reflecting on a day full of hiking, wildlife, and natural beauty.
Day 4: Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam – End of Safari
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam. Depending on your travel plans, you may catch a ferry to Zanzibar, head to your hotel for rest, or transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
This concludes your 4-day safari adventure, combining wildlife, culture, and scenic landscapes in southern Tanzania.
