Day 2: Tarangire National Park Safari
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, renowned for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Spend the day on a guided game drive spotting giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and diverse bird species. Tarangire is particularly spectacular during the dry season, when wildlife congregates along the Tarangire River. Watch out for playful baboons and mischievous monkeys at picnic sites. This park provides excellent photography opportunities, with golden savannahs and herds of wildlife creating unforgettable vistas.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park – Central Region
Drive through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to the Central Serengeti (Seronera), with a short stop to admire the breathtaking crater view. Optional: visit a Maasai village to learn about traditional life. Upon arrival, embark on an afternoon game drive, experiencing the open plains of the Serengeti. Spot lions, cheetahs, and other predators in their natural environment, and witness a magical sunset over the endless plains.
Day 4: Northern Serengeti & Mara River
Today, explore the Northern Serengeti, following the seasonal movements of the Great Migration. The game drive focuses on the Mara River, where wildebeest and zebras may be seen crossing in dramatic fashion. Carry a picnic lunch while enjoying the wildlife spectacle. Your evening concludes at a tented camp in the Northern Serengeti, where animals can often be spotted near camp.
Day 5: Serengeti Migration Safari
Continue tracking the Great Migration across the Serengeti plains. Spend the day observing large herds of wildebeest and zebras gathering for river crossings, as well as predators on the prowl. The route may take you to the far northern Serengeti or southern Ndutu, depending on the season, offering varied landscapes and wildlife encounters. Return to your Northern Serengeti camp for the evening.
Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, head south toward Ngorongoro Crater, enjoying the dramatic landscapes along the way. Pause for wildlife viewing and photography as you leave the plains. Arrive at the crater rim lodge for a spectacular view over the world-famous caldera. This day combines both scenic drives and wildlife observation, creating a perfect transition from the Serengeti to Ngorongoro.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive in one of Africa’s most unique wildlife habitats. Explore lush grasslands, permanent water sources, and crater lakes while spotting elephants, lions, zebras, hyenas, and the elusive black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch amid stunning scenery. Ascend the crater rim in the afternoon and return to Arusha for your overnight stay.
