Kilimanjaro Climb – 10 Days via Lemosho Route
Overview
The Lemosho Route is widely regarded as one of Kilimanjaro’s most scenic and rewarding paths, offering trekkers a balance of adventure, acclimatisation, and breathtaking landscapes. Spanning 10 days, the route begins in lush rainforest, gradually transitioning through the Shira Plateau and high-altitude moorlands, before entering the rugged alpine desert that leads to the summit.
Along the way, trekkers are treated to dramatic views of Shira Cathedral, the Arrow Glacier, and the imposing peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo. Highlights include the challenge of the Lava Tower, the scramble up the Great Barranco Wall, and expansive vistas across valleys and glaciers. The final ascent begins in the early hours of the morning, allowing climbers to witness the unforgettable sunrise from Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), Africa’s highest point. Known for its gradual elevation gain, spectacular scenery, and strong emphasis on acclimatisation, the Lemosho Route provides a profoundly rewarding and unforgettable Kilimanjaro experience for adventurers seeking both challenge and natural beauty.

This session covers essential safety tips, gear checks, packing advice, and health guidelines to ensure you are fully prepared for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp
After a 4WD transfer to Lemosho Park Gate for registration, porters prepare supplies and luggage while you begin your ascent along the forest trail. The path winds gently through lush rainforest, alive with birds and occasional monkeys, before reaching Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp at 2,895 metres. Here, you spend the night surrounded by the tranquil forest, gaining your first taste of the mountain environment.
