Your adventure begins with a morning flight from Zanzibar to an airstrip inside Serengeti National Park. As you leave the Indian Ocean behind, enjoy changing aerial views of Tanzania’s coastline, countryside and vast wilderness.

Upon landing in the Serengeti, you will meet your professional safari driver-guide and begin your first game drive. There is no long road transfer before the adventure starts—the airstrip is surrounded by open wilderness, so wildlife sightings can begin shortly after your arrival.

Explore the Serengeti’s sweeping grasslands, scattered acacia trees and rocky kopjes while searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest and several species of antelope. The park is also home to cheetahs, leopards and hundreds of bird species. Your guide will select the most rewarding game-viewing areas according to recent wildlife movements and local conditions.

Later in the day, travel to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Serengeti wilderness.

After breakfast, set out for another game drive across the Serengeti. Morning is an excellent time to explore, when temperatures are cooler and many animals are particularly active. You may encounter predators returning from an overnight hunt, large herbivore herds grazing on the plains or elephants moving between feeding areas and water sources.

Your guide will help you understand the Serengeti ecosystem, animal behaviour and the seasonal movements that make this park one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations. Depending on the location and time of year, you may also witness large concentrations of wildebeest and zebras associated with the Great Migration.

After completing your Serengeti game drive, begin the scenic journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, watch as the open plains gradually change into rolling hills and highland scenery. You may continue seeing wildlife during the drive, particularly around the boundary between the Serengeti and Ngorongoro ecosystems.

Arrive at your lodge in the evening, where you can relax, enjoy dinner and prepare for the following day’s Ngorongoro Crater adventure.

After an early breakfast, travel to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend approximately 600 metres to its floor for a remarkable game drive. This vast volcanic caldera contains grasslands, woodland, wetlands and a permanent lake, creating a naturally enclosed habitat for an extraordinary variety of wildlife.

The crater supports large populations of wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, gazelles, warthogs and hippos. You may also encounter elephants, hyenas, jackals and prides of lions. Ngorongoro is one of Tanzania’s best places to search for the endangered black rhinoceros, although sightings can never be guaranteed. The crater’s lakes and wetlands also attract abundant birdlife, including flamingos during favourable conditions.

Enjoy exploring the different habitats of the crater floor while your guide searches for wildlife and explains the area’s fascinating geology and natural history. After the game drive, ascend the crater walls and begin your drive to Arusha through Tanzania’s beautiful northern highlands.

You will arrive in Arusha later in the day, marking the end of your three-day wildlife adventure.
